Obituary: Sharon Annette (Sheri) Curran

From preparing football team dinners to family holiday feasts, no one was a stranger at Sheri's table.

Sharon Annette (Sheri) Curran, age 67, of Morris, IL and formerly Joliet, IL and Old Hickory, Tennessee.

Sheri passed away peacefully at home, early Saturday morning, March 14, 2026, with her family and loved ones by her side.

She was born January 28, 1959, in Joliet, IL where she was raised and educated. She attended St. Francis Acadamy and Joliet West High School and went on to receive her R.N. degree from Joliet Junior College. She held various roles as a nurse in the healthcare industry from 1986 through 2018. She fulfilled her dream and retired to Lake Worth Beach, Florida, where she enjoyed sunrises over her water-front view.

Sheri is the beloved mother of Melissa Curran Fatlan, Kevin (Karen) Curran, and Matt (Brittany) Curran; devoted grandmother of Dr. Alison Nicole (Patrick) Fitzgerald, Alexis Annette Fatlan,Alea Maria Uribe, Caeden Curran, Cameron Curran, Kevin R. Curran and Colin Curran. Dear sister and best friend of Cindy (John) Foster, Ken (Jeannine) Southcomb and Dan (Carol) Southcomb. She was also a fond aunt of several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances “Frankie” Cohan (the late James) Reynolds and her father, Kenneth Southcomb.

Sheri enjoyed caring for many beloved dogs throughout her life. She had the most special affection for Lucky, for whom she enjoyed long walks to the park and sunset strolls on the beach.Her favorite hobbies included riding her Harley through the mountains, boating on Old Hickory Lake, listening to music, and tending to her many plants.

Sheri loved fiercely and generously went out of her way to help anyone in need. From preparing football team dinners to family holiday feasts, no one was a stranger at Sheri’s table.

A Celebration of Sheri's Life will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until a Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris.
