William "Bill" Anthony Gedroc, age 88, passed away on March 16, 2023.
FRANKFORT, IL — William “Bill” Anthony Gedroc, age 88, passed away on March 16, 2023. He was born on April 29, 1934 in Chicago, and was the beloved husband of Janice A. Gedroc, (nee Mowery) for 66 years.
Bill was the loving father of Patricia D. (James A.) Carsella and Melinda J. (Alan J. Jr) Martineck, proud grandfather of Courtney A. Carsella, Alan J (Mary K.) Martineck III and Melanie A. Martineck and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. Gedroc and Mildred (nee Nasuta) Gedroc and his brother George Gedroc.

A graduate of Bowen High School and Roosevelt University. Bill served his country as a Petty Officer 1st Class in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a thirty-year employee of International Harvester (Navistar) where he held various managerial positions in human resources, manufacturing and engineering. For many years, Bill served as president of the Prestige Plate Cover, a company he owned and operated. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox.
Some of the hobbies Bill enjoyed included golfing, traveling, reading and crossword puzzles. He believed in the tradition of family vacations, which is being continued by his children and hopefully their children will also carry forward for future generations as well.

Funeral services will be held at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel in Frankfort. Family will receive friends on March 23, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at which time a service will be held. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society or the United Methodist Church of New Lenox.
