Part Of Kansas Street Closed This Summer For Outdoor Dining

The road will be closed to vehicular traffic, but will be open for additional outdoor seating from three restaurants in downtown Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — Kansas Street, between Ash and Oak streets, will be closed until Aug. 27 "as a proof of concept for an enhanced dining and event space," according to the Village.

The road will be closed to vehicular traffic, but will be open for additional outdoor seating for Francesca's Fortunato, Fat Rosie's Taco and Tequila Bar, and Trail's Edge Brewing Co.

"We are delighted to partner with our downtown restaurants and businesses to provide an expanded dining and event experience," Mayor Keith Ogle said in a release.

Kansas Street will reopen to regular traffic in the week leading up to the Fall Festival, which will be held Sept. 2-4 in downtown Frankfort.

"Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity and vibrant ambiance offered during the street closure," according to the Village.
