PHOTOS: Frankfort Man Pops the Question at Do the Griff Finish Line

Marriage proposal becomes an unusual highlight for the 4-mile community race.

Stephanie Wakulich, of Homer Glen, had no idea what was about to happen as she crossed the finish line at her very first race, Saturday's Fourth annual Do the Griff 4-mile community run.

Boyfriend Brent White, of Frankfort, was waiting there with a new puppy named Hawkeye who wore a diamond ring on his collar. Surrounded by family and friends, White went down on one knee to propose to Wakulich, who happily said yes.

The idea for proposing at the race came to White because he wanted to do something different but also do something that would surprise his fiance-to-be.
