RadioShack to Close Store in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, IL - The RadioShack store in Frankfort will be one of nearly 200 nationwide the electronics retailer plans to close by the end of the month.

The store at the Frankfort Crossing plaza at U.S. 30 and Lagrange Road is one of nine in Illinois that will close and one of three in Chicagoland, the Daily Southtown reports. Liquidation sales at the store are expected to be completed by March 28.

According to court documents obtained by Newsday, the electronics chain is looking to close 187 stores in its second round of bankruptcy filings. The company hopes to liquidate the stores by the end of the month, but some could be closed sooner.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.
