Road Closures Announced For Frankfort Fall Fest

Several roads will be closed throughout the festival, including for the parade on Sept. 3.

FRANKFORT, IL — With the return of Frankfort Fall Festival, several road closures have been announced throughout the duration of the fest, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4.

The annual event, sponsored by the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, features a carnival, live entertainment, food vendors, artisans, a parade and more.

  • White Street (Kansas to Elwood): no parking from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Aug. 30, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. White Street will be closed on Sept. 2, Sept. 3 and Sept. 4.
  • Kansas Street (Maple to White): No parking starting at 3 p.m. Sept. 1, closed at 4 p.m. Closed Sept. 2-4.
  • Oak Street (Kansas to Elwood): No parking 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Aug. 31; no parking at 3 p.m. Sept. 1, closed at 4 p.m.; road closed Sept. 2-4
  • Ash, Oak and Hickory (Kansas to Nebraska): no parking at 3 p.m., closed at 4 p.m. on Sept. 1; closed Sept. 2-4
  • Kansas, Elwood, Nebraska, Center, White, Sauk Trail, Old Frankfort Way, East and West Bowen, Carpenter and Smith: restricted parking from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 2-4
  • Nebraska and Route 45, Old Frankfort Way and Route 45, White and Route 45: controlled access from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. to downtown area on Sept. 2-4; access only to vehicles with valid Frankfort sticker

Parade street closures will include Locust (south of Nebraska), Oregon (Locust to Maple), Utah (Locust to end of street), Maple (south of Oregon) Nebraska (Route 45 to Locust) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 3.

This year's parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3. The theme is "The Fall Fest Family." The fall festival grand marshals are Al and Cindy Heath, event organizers announced.

According to the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, the event features over 300 artisans, and over 250,000 visitors. Admission is free.
