7-Year Old Girl Sexually Abused At Mokena Man's Home: Police

MOKENA, IL - A Mokena man remains in custody at the Will County Adult Detention Center on accusations he sexually abused a seven-year-old girl. Dustin Veal, 37 was charged on April 25 with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, Mokena Police Chief Steve Vaccaro said.

Veal was charged in connection to one incident that allegedly occurred at his Mokena home on April 22, according to Vaccaro. Police were made aware of of the incident by the victim's mother.

Vaccaro said Mokena police do not interview child victims, who instead speak to representatives of a children's advocacy center. Based on those interviews with the 7-year-old victim, Vaccaro said "enough evidence was obtained for a warrant" for Veal's arrest.

Veal's bail has been set at $750,000.
