Teenager Runs Away From New Lenox, Police Say

NEW LENOX, IL - The New Lenox Police Department is trying to find a 16-year-old juvenile who ran away from her family's home on Tuesday. Deputy Chief of Police Louis Alessandrini said that officers in New Lenox have also alerted police in neighboring communities to be on the lookout for Leila Michalski, 16.

"We don't believe she is any danger," he told New Lenox Patch on Thursday morning.

Prior to her disappearance, Leila got into an argument with a parent, police said.

"We are treating her as a runaway. We know she has had contact with some of her friends, but so far, we have not come up with anything. She has not returned to school. Our goal is to get her home safely," Alessandrini said.
