School District 157-C team takes "Polar Plunge" for Special Olympics

Team dressed as hippies and raised $6,515 for the cause!

Frankfort School District 157-C staff and family members recently took the “Polar Plunge” to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois.Team members dressed as hippies this year as they braved Leisure Lake in Joliet.

The “Frankfort Cheetahs” team included Gina Barrett, Laura Brannigan, Cari Clousing, Roger Clousing, Bridgett Flynn, Ricky Innocenti, Megan Murray, Alex Plummer, Josh Purpura, Char Ruhbeck, Curt Saindon, Mitch Stein, Brenda Strutzenberg and Joey Barrett, the first student athlete to take the plunge as part of the team.

The District 157-C team was successful in raising $6,515 in donations for Special Olympics Illinois during the successful “Polar Plunge” event.
