FRANKFORT, IL — Several car burglaries have happened this week in Frankfort, according to police. On March 13, the Frankfort Police Department took several reports of burglary to motor vehicles on the east side of town in the Lakeview Estates subdivision.

Police said in each of the cases, it appears that the car were unlocked. The department reminds residents to lock their car doors and never leave keys or key fobs inside the car.

"Also, do not leave garage door openers in your unsecured vehicles. If a vehicle is accidentally left unlocked and the garage door opener is inside of the vehicle the offenders can now gain access to the garage," the department shared on Facebook.
