Smokey Barque Holds Grand Opening Ceremony Friday

  • Although it has been open since late last year, , the barbecue restaurant , will be holding a grand opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24. The event will include a ribbon-cutting with Mayor Jim Holland and feature music from the Orland Park band Stellar Road. There als will be food tastings, tours and raffles all weekend, with Saturday designated as a family day, featuring activities for the kids.

  • has receieved approval to bring its annual World Wide Knite/Crochet in Public event to Breidert Green on June 10. In case of bad weather, the event will be held at the store, which will expand starting April 1.

  • The approved a Downtown Retail Grant for Fiancee Couture, a new upscale wedding and bridal shop on Old Frankfort Way.
