Spring Programs On Tap At Frankfort Park District
Some spring program include Spring on the Green, bunny home visits and a kids garage sale.
FRANKFORT, IL — Although January just began, the Frankfort Park District has already set its schedule for the spring, offering special events like the spring craft show, Spring on the Green, and a dog egg hunt.
The spring craft show will be held on March 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak St. Admission is free, and vendors will be selling Easter decorations, note cards, doll clothes, blankets, scarves, candles, jewelry, ceramics and more, according to the park district.
Another free event on tap is Spring on the Green, which will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Breidert Green on March 19. The event will feature a DJ, outdoor games, a balloon artist, and a bonfire with hot chocolate and cookies.

Easter is April 9 this year, so April will bring some Easter-themed events to the park district.
Donuts with the Bunny will be held on April 1 at Founders Community Center. Three different times will be offered; 10 to 10:45 a.m., 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. It is $7 per child. According to the park district, Peter Cottontail will be at the event for some crafts, games, donuts, an egg hunt and a photo opportunity. The registration deadline is March 24 (or until filled), and the event is sponsored by Fleckenstein's.

Also on April 1, at 1:30 p.m., the family pet can get in on the holiday with the Super Dog Egg Hunt at Bark Park at Commissioners Park. The free event is sponsored by Bentley's Pet Stuff, and dogs will be able to collect treat-filled eggs around the dog park. There will be dog-friendly vendors after the event, according to the park district.
April will feature several more events, including:
- Annual Family Fun Fly, April 4, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fort Frankfort at Commissioners Park. The kite-flying event is free and open to the public.
- Bunny Home Visit, April 7. A bunny will visit your house for an outdoor photo and to bring your child a treat. The program is only available for park district residents, and it is $30 for a visit and gift for one child, and $7 for each additional child, according to the park district.
- Kids Garage Sale, April 22, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Main Park north parking lot. Kids can sell no longer needed toys, games, books and more. The garage sale is open to the public.
- Celebrating Earth Day, April 22, 12 to 2 p.m. at Main Park. The free family event will offer games, crafts, giveaways and more. Each family will also receive a tree sapling to plant, according to the park district.
