Sr. Maria Brizuela, OSF Named CCW Woman of the Year

St. Anthony CCW Honors Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart

Sister Maria Brizuela, OSF, a Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart, will be honored as the 2018 Council of Catholic Woman of the Year for St. Anthony Parish, Frankfort on April 21 at a liturgy at St. Raymond Cathedral in Joliet. Chosen by the CCW women, Sister Maria serves on the Service and Spirituality Commissions and has been a speaker at CCW meetings focusing on service, vocations, love and faith. She serves the parish as a Lector and St Vincent DePaul member, working with the poor and homeless. In addition, Sr. Maria is Vocation Director for Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Frankfort. St. Anthony CCW states, “Sister Maria encourages each person she meets to believe that God has created them with gifts and talents calling them to serve the Church and humanity” and “she is mentor to the women of the St. Anthony CCW, encouraging cooperation and collaboration at all times.”
