St. Mary Catholic School Begins the 2023-24 School Year

St. Mary Catholic School Welcomes Back Students in Grades Preschool-8th Grades.

(Mokena) - On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, the halls of St. Mary Catholic School in Mokena echoed with the excited chatter and laughter of students as they eagerly returned. With the start of the school year, Principal Dr. Michele Engelman expressed her warm welcome to students, marking the beginning of another year of learning, faith, and community.
As the day began, students, parents, and staff gathered outside the school building with a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm. Dr. Engelman, in her third year as principal, greeted students with a smile and a heartfelt welcome.
We are thrilled to have our students back in the classrooms, filling our school with their energy and enthusiasm," said Dr. Engelman. "St. Mary has always been a place of learning, friendship, and faith, and this year will be no different. We have exciting plans in place to engage our students in creative and meaningful ways while maintaining a Christ-centered education."
As students made their way to their classrooms, the familiar sights of colorful displays, interactive learning materials, and vibrant bulletin boards welcomed them back to a space that encourages exploration and curiosity. Teachers, too, were excited to reunite with their students and embark on a new journey of academic discovery.
As the academic year unfolds, St. Mary School in Mokena is poised to continue its legacy of fostering excellence in education, character development, and community service. With Dr. Engelman at the helm, students can look forward to a year filled with inspiration, growth, and the promise of a bright future.
