St. Peter's Preschoolers Visit Pilcher Park

Children and parents of St. Peter's Preschool (Frankfort) visited Pilcher Park in Joliet for a fall field trip. Each class enjoyed a walk through the woods to learn all about the trees and animals that live there. We saw the maple tap to make syrup and how trees decompose. After our walk, we met inside to learn about animals that make Pilcher Park home. First was a hawk that was rescued after it's wing was injured. The children also met a box turtle and snake-- learning about the characteristics of the body, their diet, and predators. Everyone was able to touch the snake and turtle!
