Stacy Holland, Wife Of Former Frankfort Mayor, Dies

Holland was the District 210 director of community relations and helped launch the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational Excellence.


FRANKFORT, IL — Stacy Holland, the wife of former Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland and "a familiar, positive presence in the Frankfort and Lincoln-Way communities," died on April 4.

"Stacy built a life centered on service, connection, and curiosity," her obituary shares. She was a former reporter, and worked for 23 years as the Director of Community Relations for Lincoln-Way School District 210.

Stacy also volunteered her time in several ways, helping to launch the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational Excellence, and she was involved with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, the Suburban Service League, the Silver Cross Hospital Foundation and the New Lenox Rotary Club.

The Village of Frankfort shared its condolences:

"Stacy was a truly remarkable woman whose warmth, kindness, and generosity left a lasting impact throughout our community. Her positive spirit and genuine care for others touched countless lives, and her influence can be seen in so many corners of our village. She was not only a devoted wife and family member, but also a friend and inspiration to many," the Village said.

The Frankfort Chamber of Commerce also extended condolences.

"Stacy was a valued member of the Frankfort community, whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and the care she showed to those around her," the Chamber said.

Services are planned at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, on April 14 from 3 to 8 p.m., and again on April 15 from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 12 West Sauk Trail, Frankfort. Interment, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at CD & ME, 23320 South LaGrange Road, on April 15 as well.
