Students at Montessori of Frankfort learn about Ramadan

One of our students' father shares their tradition of Ramadan

Montessori of Frankfort's students learned a great deal today about The Islamic holy month, Ramadan. We had a parent visit and share his Ramadan traditions with our children. They were quite intrigued and asked many questions.

For instance, they were fascinated about how The Islamic holy month of Ramadan falls at a different time each year because the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, based on the moon's natural cycles. They learned about their 30 day fasting and prayer 5 times a day. Mr. Ammoura ended the presentation by reading two books to our children. One was called “It’s Ramadan, Curious George and the other Ramadan Around the World.” It was truly a good learning experience for all.
