Summit Hill Approves $31.2 Million 2019 Tax Levy: Board Briefs
The board also hired several new employees and discussed holiday closures.
FRANKFORT, IL — At its Dec. 18 meeting, the Summit Hill board of education took several actions, including hiring employees and approving its 2019 tax levy.
The board approved several new employees, including: Emily Mikolajewski, FMLA teacher; Stacey Poett-Ashmus, paraprofessional; and Brett Scheuber, building technician.
The board also approved the termination of a feasibility study's tax impact sections, because "certain relevant information was not available to adequately complete the study as agreed to," board briefs state.

The board also adopted its 2019 tax levy, for a total of $31,200,000. The levy was broken down into:
- Education fund, $24,300,000
- Operations and maintenance funds, $3,625,000
- Transportation fund, $1,400,000
- Working cash fund, $325,000
- IMRF fund, $275,000
- Social Security fund, $525,000
- Tort immunity fund, $275,000
- Special education fund, $475,000
The board also discussed holiday closures. Schools and the district office will be closed Dec. 23-Dec. 27. On Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 2, and Jan. 3, all schools (not for students) and the district office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The district will be closed Jan. 1.
