Summit Hill Cheer Team Places Sixth At State Finals

Frankfort's Summit Hill placed sixth with a score of 81.10 in the large team routine.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort's Summit Hill Junior High cheer team placed sixth in the large team routine at the IESA state finals.

The cheerleading state finals were held on Wednesday in Peoria.

The team from Summit Hill competed in the large team routine, which is for teams with 17-25 members. According to IESA, Edwardsville's Liberty was the state champion for the large team routine.

Frankfort placed sixth with a score of 81.10, beating out seventh-place Lake Zurich's South (score of 79.60), according to the IESA website.

Summit Hill has competed at the IESA state finals many times, placing fourth in 2022, fifth in 2020, and second in 2019.
