Summit Hill School District 161 to Offer Parent Guardian Academy

The May session of the Summit Hill School District 161 Parent Guardian Academy (PGA) will be a Kindergarten Readiness Night. Parents are invited to bring their incoming kindergarten students to learn about what they will be working on next year. Families will be able to meet teachers and staff, explore learning games, and leave with tools to help prepare their students for kindergarten in the fall. Learning activity stations will include letter identification, math, and fine motor skills.

This free Kindergarten Readiness session will take place on Tuesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. at Dr. Julian Rogus School, 20027 S. 88th Ave. in Frankfort. Please register in advance at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4EA5AE2CA4FE3-56191977-kindergarten.

The PGA educational series was created to share helpful information with our local learning community. Topics have ranged from Standards-Based Grading and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to Keeping Kids Safe Online and Bullying. The sessions have been recorded and posted on the district's website at summithill.org/parent-guardian-academy for future reference.
