Summit Hill Students Lay Wreath at Arlington National Cemetery
Four students earned the privilege of presenting a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during a recent class trip to Washington, D.C.

FRANKFORT, IL -- Four eighth grade girls participated in the coveted wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C. during a recent Summit Hill Junior High School class trip. Faith Buralli, Emily Kubik, Kendall Moss and Erica Strojny presented a wreath in the school's name to a Tomb Guard at the foot of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, according to a news release from the school. The students were chosen after writing an essay explaining why they should.
More than 100 eighth grade students and 12 chaperones attended the 3-day educational trip to Washington. D.C. recently. After the four students laid the wreath, they joined the rest of their classmates in witnessing the ceremonial Changing of the Guard ceremony at the cemetery.
