Sun Roof Used To Get Teen Driver Out Of Car That Rolled Over

A 16-year-old driver who caused a rollover crash on Elsner Road in Frankfort was not hurt.

FRANKFORT, IL - No one was injured in a Thursday afternoon rollover crash that involved just one car in the 21200 block of South Elsner Road in Frankfort. Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan said it was "an inexperienced driver" who struck a curb in the area around 1:40 p.m. and caused the car to rollover.

"The driver hit the curb and the vehicle rolled over," Keegan said.

Frankfort Assistant Fire Chief Sean Fierce said that after first responders arrived they helped the driver out of the car through its sun roof.

Keegan said the crash caused no property damage other than to the car involved. The driver, who Keegan said is 16 years old and licensed, will not be charged or cited.

Traffic delays near the Elsner/U.S. 30 intersection as a result of the crash were brief.
