Suspects Flee After Frankfort Armed Robbery: Cops
Two armed men entered Speedway, 22305 S. Center Road, at 5:20 a.m.Friday and stole cash and merchandise.
FRANKFORT, IL — A Frankfort gas station was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning, Frankfort Police said. Two armed men entered Speedway, 22305 S. Center Road, at 5:20 a.m. and stole cash and merchandise.
Police said the suspects were in a newer, dark gray Dodge Challenger with bright orange daytime running lights. Both suspects were black men wearing all black clothing and had ski-type masks blocking their faces.
When officers arrived at the scene, police said the two men fled the gas station in the Dodge Challenger. Police gave chase, but ended the pursuit as the suspects began to drive at a very high rate of speed and made evasive maneuvers without regard for safety.

The car was last seen entering northbound I-57.
According to police, in many of these cases, the suspects will cover the license plates with plastic or will use stolen motor vehicles.
