Teen Faces Fleeing Charge In Hit-And-Run: Police
A teen driver who hit a pedestrian Friday near Lincoln-Way East High School fled but was later caught by police.
FRANKFORT, IL — A pedestrian was hit by a teen driver Friday near Lincoln-Way East High School, according to Frankfort Police Department Chief Leanne Chelepis. The driver fled the crash scene but was later caught by police, Chelepis said.
Angel N. Williams, 19, of Matteson, was charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving personal injury, Chelepis said. The pedestrian hit by Williams was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox with unspecified injuries, Chelepis said.
Will County Sheriff's deputies and Frankfort police responded to a call of a hit-and-run at approximately 7:08 p.m. in the area of Colorado Avenue and Aspen Street, according to Chelepis. Officers spoke with several witnesses at the scene and were able to get a description of Williams' vehicle along with the license plate number, Chelepis said.

Frankfort police found Williams' vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at 20820 S. LaGrange Road, just a block away from the scene of the hit-and-run, and arrested Williams, Chelepis said.
Will County jail records show Williams was released Saturday.

Chelepis did not have an update on the condition of the pedestrian hit by Williams.
