Three Questions with Mamma Mia's Nathan Tilton
The LWE Junior plays Harry in the LWE production of Mamma Mia! April 12-14 tickets at lwemusic.org

We caught up with LWE junior Nathan Tilton , who is busy rehearsing for the upcoming LWE production of Mamma Mia! April 12-14. Tickets are on sale now at lwemusic.org ABBA's hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
Mamma Mia! is a fun, glittery, dance-pop musical, but we were able to chat with Nathan a bit about the character he plays and the work he's put into the show.
No spoilers - but do you think there’s a reason Harry has a big reveal at the end of the show ? What changed in the course of the weekend to make him open up ?
1. I believe Harry’s big reveal at the end of the show discloses the show’s theme of the freedom of life. Mamma Mia’s story line revolves around the characters doing what truly makes them happy from marriage to finding the father they’ve lacked their whole entire lives. I believe Harry’s big reveal at the end only amplifies that theme and brings it to a whole other level

Does Harry stand for something else ( a choice Donna didn’t make or didn’t have -the conventional suit and tie go to work life ?) or is he just comic relief
2. In my opinion, Harry stands for the need to escape the daily rigors of life. All the dads have secondary motivation to comeback to the island, and Harry’s is escaping his busy daily life for a little while to enjoy the island and reminisce. In one of the early lines in show, he tells Bill he enjoys travel books because they help him through his daily troubles in London. This leads me to believe that Harry comes to the island to find what’s lacking in his routine, precise life: spontaneity.

Was it difficult playing an older role with experiences you haven’t had yet , or not ?
3. It was hard originally to find motives for the character because a lot of these adult decisions and experiences I have not made yet. I had to talk to my parents about some aspects of their adult life’s and, to get perspective of British adults, I studied some Hugh Grant in his movies to get the correct feel.
Who is Sophie’s dad?
I have my opinion, but I don't want to bias our audience --- come to the show and figure it out for yourselves!
What’s next for Nathan ?
This summer I will be intensively preparing for college auditions with my teachers!
