TORO DE FUEGO CANTINA OPENS IN FRANKFORT

FRANKFORT, IL (MAY 2015) – Toro de Fuego Cantina officially opened its doors on May 1st, 2015 at 9680 Lincolnway Lane in Frankfort. The Tommy Nevin’s Group is thrilled to bring a new concept to the Frankfort dining scene with its first Spanish-inspired Mexican restaurant.

Toro de Fuego (“tore-oh de fway-go”), which translates to “bull of fire,” offers a renewed dining persona with cuisine from the region of Veracruz, Mexico; which has been heavily influenced by traditional fare in the likes of Madrid and Barcelona, Spain. This is enhanced by the interior, which evokes a lively Spanish square. The name is derived from an annual Spanish festival in which fireworks are attached to a metallic bull and carried throughout the town. The festival is about renewal and celebration, which is what the new Toro de Fuego restaurant is all about.

The chef-driven restaurant incorporates a fusion of exotic Spanish dishes alongside traditional Mexican favorites. Executive Chef & Partner Marcus Mooney curated the menu carefully; using fresh ingredients and emphasizing that all dish elements are made from scratch. Chef Marcus recently took a culinary journey of Mexico and logged his experiences throughout the way, which served as inspiration for much of the menu.

The bar offers a premium selection of tequilas, mezcals, wines, and more with creative craft cocktails. A selection of drafts from Nevin’s Brewing Company are also featured, including the YOLO! and the NBC Seasonal. The excellent management team is excited to finally bring Frankfort residents the foodie destination they have been waiting for.

Toro de Fuego is open 4-10pm Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 4-11pm Thursday through Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. The seasonal patio will be open soon.
