HISTORIC ELECTRIC RAILS & THE ELEGANT FARMER – Kenosha, WI.
Enjoy a fascinating journey back in time as we travel to southeast Wisconsin for a blast of the past. In Kenosha, board a beautifully restored streetcar and enjoy a two-mile ride past the Lake Michigan shoreline, Harbor Park, two historic districts, and downtown Kenosha. While we visit Kenosha, we’ll also tour the brand new Civil War Museum on the streetcar route. This state-of-the-art museum shows how the upper Midwest helped shape American history during the Civil War. After a great lunch at the Boat House Pub & Eatery near the shores of Lake Michigan, we ride to East Troy, WI to visit the East Troy Electric Railroad. Here we’ll visit its museum and enjoy a ten-mile, round trip journey on one of its historic inter-urban trains. The train operates on the original Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Companies inter-urban track built in 1907. During our ride we disembark at the landmark Elegant Farmer. You’ll have time here to shop at their Farm Kitchen Bakery and Market featured on TV’s Food Network. The market is known for its one-of-a-kind apple pie baked in a paper bag!
