BEACH PARTY!

The warmth of summer is simmering in the air so, let the party begin at Commissioners Park! Come dressed in your bathing suit and don’t forget your towel, as you enjoy getting wet at the Splash Park. A toss of a beach ball or sand in your toes will surely feel like you’re at the beach. There will be seashells to look for and sand castles to build. A nature walk through the park and a picnic spent with friends will be enjoyed on this summer afternoon. Hot dogs and chips will be served. Please apply sunscreen before the party.

JR. ENTREPRENEUR CAMP  NEW!

Nisha’s Little Buddies has developed a Jr. Entrepreneur Camp for children ages 6-12 that may have a strong interest in owning their very own business someday. Our camp gives parents an opportunity to play an active role in our program and watch Nisha’s Little Buddies Jr. Entrepreneur Camp video while devoting their time to the family homework component. Our campers will form and separate into groups in order to create a business plan. Within that agenda they will select a product to sell, learn where to shop for products and materials, design order forms, role play scripts that will increase sells, sell hand painted products to family members/friends and neighbors. Lastly they will obtain a certificate of completion and end our camp with an entrepreneur party. We'd like to encourage the parent (s) of each participant to attend. We also recommend that our campers join with a sibling, cousin or best friend because it may allow our camper a more friendly or familiar environment to reach their business goals.  There is a $35 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

EMPOWERING GIRLS TO UNCOVER THEIR TRUTH  NEW!

Gina Marie is dedicated to inspiring and guiding girls ages 9-16 to discover their True selves and develop the skills, knowledge, confidence and courage they need to consistently make informed life-choices from a place of self-knowledge, self-respect, self-love and strength.  It is my goal, to provide a loving a safe environment for girls and teach them essential life skills every girl/young woman needs for healthy development, to build healthy relationships and the opportunity to reach her own unique and highest potential. Through  interactive talk, yoga, breathing art, journaling,  writing, drumming,  unconditional love and peer support… girls will be guided to develop tools to successfully navigate issues every girl faces today.

IGNITE CHEERLEADING CAMP

Learn to be the best cheerleader this summer with Ignite Cheerleading!  In this 3 day camp we will go over basic tumbling, 4 line cheer & vocal control, 30 second dance, counting techniques, proper and safe introduction to stunting, motion techniques, jumps & team building games.  At the end of the last day of camp there will be a parent presentation.  Please wear gym shoes, hair pulled back and comfortable clothing.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt.

COUNTRY LINE DANCING NEW!

Learn the hottest dances that are currently being done at the saloons and country dance clubs in the Chicago area.  Dances are simple enough for beginners, no partner required.  So put on your boots and get ready to have some fun dancing to Country top hits!

MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL 2010: LEVEL 1

This course is intended for people who want to learn the beginning level of Excel 2010 skills. This class will cover exploring the Excel 2010 program and its many useful features including customizing it. You will learn how to create workbooks, worksheets, and tables. You will also learn to work with data by formatting the cells to present in color, character, or themes. You will also work with beginning level formula’s and calculations. Finally, printing your workbooks for distributing. Prerequisites include basic computer knowledge, keyboard, and mouse skills as well as basic knowledge of file management on Windows 7 or XP.   A computer will be provided for each participant.

Summer Day Camp Registration

Registration must be done IN PERSON at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street.

• Outdoor activities, water days, arts & crafts, & weekly field trips
• Summer day camp program for children entering 1st - 6th grade.
• Full day camp will run from 9 - 4pm, Monday - Friday.
• Held at Commissioners Park, 22108 S. 80th Avenue in Frankfort.
• Before and after camp option.
• Partnership with School District 157C for the use of Chelsea Intermediate School, for before and after camp and during inclement weather conditions, located next to Commissioners Park.
• Registration must be done IN PERSON at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street.

 

Campers may register for the entire camp or on a per week basis.

Preschool Open Registration:

Registration is currently taking place at the Founders Community Center at 140 Oak Street, Frankfort and can only be done IN PERSON. Our doors will open at 8:30 am. Call the Park District at 815-469-9400 if you have any questions or would like to visit our programs while they are in session.

 

Looking for an excellent Preschool program? All preschool programs run from September 2014 to May 2015.

A $50 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. If your tuition is paid in full between June 2 and September 5, 2014, you will receive a 10% discount for the entire year. Additional siblings will also receive a 10% discount.  For Non-residents the discount will be taken off the resident rate.
