Varsity Football in the L-Way Communities, Aug. 31

Of the five high schools in the Lincoln-Way communities, L-W East, L-W Central and L-W North were the victors. Providence Catholic and L-W West lost to their opponents, Chicago Tribunereports.

Game Scores:

• L-W East beat Carmel: 17-7

• L-W Central beat Sandburg: 26-21

• L-W North beat LaSalle-Peru: 47-7

• Providence Catholic lost to Joliet Catholic: 42-35

• L-W West lost to Sycamore: 34-21
