Lincoln Way North Phoenix Go to Overtime in Football Playoffs

The Phoenix led the conference in points per game with 39.8, but they didn’t put that many on the board in their playoff game against Wheaton-Warrenville South Friday night. The game went into overtime after the Phoenix let the lead slip away in the fourth quarter. The Phoenix lost to Wheaton-Warrenville, 17-10.

In other district action, Lincoln Way East knocked down its district rival, Lincoln Way Central, in a 42-7 drubbing in the snow Friday night. The Griffins will advance to the second round of the IHSA Class 7A playoffs. Lincoln Way West also will advance to the playoffs, shutting out Morgan Park 28-0 in a dominant performance in the Class 6A matchup.
