Village of Frankfort honors Hickory Creek Middle School Girls Softball Team as State Champs

Team wins State Championship for the first time

The Girls’ Softball Team from Hickory Creek Middle School was recognized by Mayor Jim Holland and the Village of Frankfort Board of Trustees on October 5. Mayor Holland invited the girls and their coaches to come before the Board while he read a formal proclamation and awarded them a plaque for winning the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State Tournament in Normal, Illinois.

The team members include Ashley Esposito, Gabby Paliska, Katie Burns, Paige Geraghty, Ellie Marion, Danielle Drogemuller, Kara Frencl, Payton Wuske, Maddie Harper, Melissa Bauer, Brianna Ebenroth, Avery Parchem and Abby McCreary. The coaches are Mitch Stein and Sean Bouck.

The win was the first State Championship for the Hickory Creek Girls’ Softball Team. The team’s overall record was 21 wins and 3 losses.
