A private contractor will excavate the road to repair the sanitary sewer.

GENEVA, IL — A one-block portion of Stevens Street will close Tuesday for sanitary sewer repairs, officials said.
A private contractor will work for two days to excavate the road to repair the sewer, requiring the street to be shut down from Third to Fourth streets.
Access to Wheeler Drive from Stevens Street will remain open. Detour signs will be posted to help drivers navigate the closure. Officials noted a separate detour route will be in place for trucks to use Route 31, State Street and Anderson Boulevard.
