No Charges Filed In Fatal Geneva Crash, 1 Dead
Police say the man "failed to maneuver a curve" in the street, leading him to hit another car. The crash is under investigation.

GENEVA, IL — A DeKalb man is dead, and another man injured, after a two-car accident on West State Street in Geneva in the early hours of Sunday, Jan. 7. Police announced Monday that no charges are being filed in the accident.
Around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Adam Bruner, 28, of the 300 block of Augustus Avenue in DeKalb, was driving west in the 1400 block of West State Street when he apparently "failed to maneuver a curve" in the street. He crossed into oncoming traffic, according to a press release from Geneva.
Bruner's 2000 Honda Accord collided with a 2013 VW Passat driving by an 18-year-old Geneva man.

The Geneva Fire Department took both Bruner and the 18-year-old to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva. The Geneva man was treated and released, but Bruner was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the accident.
Police do not know whether alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor in the accident, but county investigators are working with the Geneva Police Department to find details of the deadly collision.

The Kane County coroner is performing an autopsy partially to determine whether drugs or alcohol had a role in the deadly crash.
