Aldi Gets City OK to Expand at State Street Location
The grocer is looking to add 1,400 square feet of space to its Geneva store.

GENEVA, IL - The Geneva City Council last month approved site plans that will allow the Aldi in Geneva to expand.
Aldi will be adding more than 1,400 square feet to their existing location at 975 E. State St. in Geneva. The expansion will allow Aldi to provide a larger selection of fresh foods and an enhanced shopping experience to their customers, city officials said.
The site plan was approved at the March 20 Geneva City Council meeting, according to a city of Geneva newsletter.

The Geneva Aldi store opened in 2007 and is located within the City's East State Tax Increment Financing District (TIF 2). TIF funds were used to assist Aldi with site acquisition and redevelopment costs associated with bringing the grocery store to this location, according to city officials.
Aldi operates in 35 states and has about 150 stores in the Chicago area.
