Alec Wilson Breaks Another St. Peter School Record

Five year 100 meter dash record falls. St. Peter girls dominate High Jump.

In an Aurora Conference meet at Marmion Academy on Saturday, April 18 eighth grader Alec Wilson ran the fastest 100 meter dash in the history of St. Peter Track and Field. His 11.85 second sprint, more than enough for first place will be a tough one to top. The old record of 12.01 seconds stood for nearly five years before Wilson’s historic race.

In other news, the St. Peter girls High Jump team dominated the same meet by winning every division they entered. Fifth grader Greta Prange won her competition with a jump of 3 feet 10 inches. The sixth grade competition went well past four feet when Mary Tork won with a jump of 4 feet 4 inches. Teammate Ellie Hood also jumped 4 feet 4 inches which placed her second with two attempts. Finally, eighth grader Katie Hood won the eighth grade competition with a jump of 4 feet 2 inches.

The St. Peter Rockets ended up placing third overall in the meet behind perennial powerhouse Annunciation of Aurora and up and coming Holy Cross of Batavia. The team set many personal records that day with a total of eighteen first place finishes.
