This Amazing New Sprayground Is Coming To Geneva
The sprayground will debut next May at Sunset Pool.

The summer season may be over but Geneva residents have a new place to look forward to visiting next summer. The Geneva Park District Board of Commissioners has approved moving forward with the construction of a new sprayground at Sunset Pool. Construction on the project will begin this fall and the sprayground is slated to be completed by Sunset Pool’s opening day on May 25, 2019, according to a news release.
The sprayground will replace the sand area and play structure currently located east of the main pool. The new interactive water sprayground will feature a variety of squirting, spraying, and splashing features that will keep children cool and having fun all summer, according to the news release.
Highlights of the new sprayground include: swaying palms with coconuts that dump water, a spin flower, mushroom maze, an aqua arch and super soaker water rings. Children will also enjoy a variety of other active elements throughout the park, including a Push-Me-Pull-You squirting feature and more.

“We are thrilled about this addition at Sunset Pool. The hands-on sprayground will be ADA accessible and feature vibrant colors and fun water features that allow children to utilize all five senses during play,” said Nicole Vickers, Superintendent of Recreation for Geneva Park District.
The Geneva Park District Board of Commissioners approved the construction of the sprayground at the August 2018 meeting. The total cost of the sprayground project is approximately $522,000, which was budgeted in the city's capital improvement plan, Vickers said.

“We are constantly looking at ways to improve our parks, programs and facilities to meet the community’s needs,” said Sheavoun Lambillotte, Executive Director of the Geneva Park District.
Pool passes for the 2019 season will go on sale in mid-February. Early bird pool pass rates will be available through April 30, 2019; regular rates are effective as of May 1. People can choose to purchase a Sunset Pool Pass; a Mill Creek Pool Pass; or a Gold Pool Pass, which allows users entry into both Mill Creek and Sunset Pools.
