GENEVA, IL — The Third Street Commuter Parking Deck in downtown Geneva will partially close for maintenance beginning July 6.
The deck's second and third floor will be closed off while construction crews replace expansion joints throughout the structure. The floors will also be sealed to prevent moisture and salt from reaching the steel reinforcement bars, city officials said.
Work will last about three weeks, with the upper levels expected to be closed through July 24.
When the first-floor parking reaches capacity, commuters should use the Route 31 overflow lot, located southeast of the Union Pacific West train bridge.
