GENEVA, IL — Authorities revealed the identity of the 71-year-old woman who was killed Saturday in a head-on collision in Geneva.
Mary Wilbur, 71, of Geneva, was killed in the crash that occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Randall Road near Fargo Boulevard, according to a report from WGN. The autopsy revealed her injuries to be consistent with a car crash.
Wilbur's son, a 26-year-old resident of Essexville, Michigan, , Patch reported. He was first taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, then airlifted to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital in Chicago in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation indicated the crash occurred after a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Camaro veered into oncoming traffic and struck Wilbur's 2019 Nissan Versa.

The Camaro driver, 40-year-old Christian Mares, faces a long list of charges, Geneva police said:
Mares, of the 1100 block of New Haven Avenue in Aurora, was treated for injuries and released from Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. He was taken to the Kane County jail to await a hearing scheduled for July 15.
