GENEVA, IL — The Geneva Police Department is organizing its second annual National Night Out Aug. 4 at Geneva Middle School South.
The nationwide event, which occurs annually on the first Tuesday of August, brings together communities with the goal of strengthening relationships between residents, public safety personnel and city leaders.
In Geneva, the event will run from 5-8 p.m. at the school, 1415 Viking Drive.

Guests will also be able to chat with Geneva police officers and meet representatives of several community organizations distributing information and giveaways.
Visitors are asked to leave their pets at home, as Tommy and his fellow comfort dogs will be the only pups on duty.
