GENEVA, IL — The intersection of Fabyan Parkway and Kirk Road in Geneva is one of three in Kane County that will undergo crack-sealing this fall, according to a news release.
The Kane County Division of Transportation will begin the project Aug. 31, but the county has not released a specific date for the Geneva location, officials said.
Overnight lane closures are planned as part of construction. Work will occur between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday to minimize the impact on daytime traffic. Roadways will remain open during construction, but traffic will be down to one lane with temporary lane closures and flaggers directing cars through the work zone.
Crews will work on one segment before moving to the next project site, officials said.
The entire project will take about six to eight weeks to be completed, weather permitting, officials said.
