
John D’Amico, 78, of St. Charles, died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles.
He was born Feb. 12, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the son of Alfred and Mary D’Amico. He was united in marriage to Arlene Bazar on June 24, 1970 in Geneva, IL.
John was the founder of Norman Lamps in St. Charles. He took great pride in working with his sons, who now own and operate the business with families of their own.

John was a member of St Charles Moose for 16 years. He held the post of lodge governor in 2001 and was on the board of officers for 10 years. John worked in many volunteer capacities at the lodge, from door greeter to chairman of the Veteran’s Day celebration.
John was a champion many times in the Lodge Enrollment Ceremony competitions. Mostly, John was a friend to many Moose members and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; his children, Debra, Sandra, Daniel (Patricia), Michael (Beth); his grandchildren, Bryan, Luke, Joanna, Krysta, Joseph, Antonio, Thomas, Alexandra, Michael, and John; his brothers, Alfred, Donald, Larry, and Bobby; a sister, Gloria; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Hummel; and his son, John Edward D’Amico.
