Visitation Monday for Eileen W. Jackman, 89, Who Taught Many Years at St. Patrick Elementary School

Eileen W. Jackman, 89, of St. Charles died peacefully Friday, Sept. 16, at her daughter’s home in Houston, TX.

She was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Oak Park, the daughter of Francis X. Weinert and Appolonia (nee Lehmann).

Eileen grew up in Oak Park, and was a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where she majored in Elementary Education. She married William Jackman in June 1945; they moved to St. Charles in 1952, where they enjoyed a wonderful life together.

Eileen was parishioner of St. Patrick parish and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #342. She taught at St. Patrick Elementary School from 1975-1987, and she continued on as a substitute teacher for many years.

She cherished her friendships with members of her Bible Study Group and enjoyed her mornings with the Happy Hands group. She was fortunate to have wonderful neighbors and many friends throughout the St. Charles community. Most of all, Eileen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jeanne Knope of Tucson, AZ, Mary Jo (Bob) Ogurek of Tucson, AZ, Carol (Rich) Wetterauer of Houston, TX, John (Lynn Yarde) Jackman of Lisle, Janet (Bill) Felgenhauer of Trevor, WI, and Jennifer (Terry) Hoeppner of Sauk City, WI; nine grandchildren, Peter (Rachel), Thomas (Megan), Emily Jo and Michael Wetterauer; Anna, Danielle and Joseph Felgenhauer; Anna and Kelly Hoeppner; two great granddaughters Haley and Kylie Wetterauer; sisters-in-law Carol Weinert of Geneva, Judy Peel of Franklin, IN, and Frances Jackman of El Dorado, KS, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and brother Francis X. Weinert, Jr., she is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Jackman.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 South Third St., St. Charles. A liturgical wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass for Eileen will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 408 Cedar St., St. Charles, with Fr. R. Michael Schaab, celebrant. Internment will be in Mound Rest Cemetery, Cortland, IL.
