Another Closure At 'Revolving Door' Restaurant Location
Juliette at 524 W. State Street in Geneva has closed just months after opening.

GENEVA, IL -- A location along West State Street in Geneva has seen a high turnover in restaurant tenants in recent years. Most recently, the French restaurant Juliette at 524 W. State St. closed its doors after less than a year in business, the Daily Herald reports. Prior to Juliette's opening, the space was occupied by Hache Moderne Brasserie and before that, Urban Grille.
Juliette was run by the owners of two popular local restaurants, The Finery & Blacksmith in St. Charles, and The Grandstander on Third Street in Geneva, according to the Daily Herald. So, why didn't Juliette have the same kind of success?
Daily Herald columinist Dave Heun learned from manager of The Finery that the closing had something to do with Juliettenot being in the "sweet spot" along Third Street. He writes the location is a little too far off the beaten path from the busier section of Third that is closer to other restaurants, bar and businesses.

His suggestion: the next owner should focus on putting in non-specialty restaurant. Heun write:
Aurelio's Pizza proved a key fact of business life when it took over a spot downtown that also had been a revolving door for restaurants in the past: Give the vast majority of people something they'll really like and want, and longevity becomes a safer bet.
