Arkansas Pups Looking for Foster Homes 8/24
Please consider opening your home to one of these dogs.
Summer vacation is coming to an end and school is starting. One of our rescue families is enjoying their last days of summer vacation in Arkansas. What do rescuers do while on vacation...we visit the local shelters!
The county shelter is underfunded and has less than 10 kennels. Unfortunately, there are far more than 10 dogs that need help. Last year while on vacation, Safe Haven Dog Rescue was able to rescue a few dogs and we would really like to be able to do the same thing this year.
These are the dogs that would like to come to Illinois on Saturday 8/24:

"DERP" Gorgeous Male, approx 1-2 yrs old and about 50lbs. Arrived to the shelter already neutered. Super sweet & wants to please, walks well on a leash, and is very people & treat oriented so additional training should be an easy task. Derp shows signs of house manners and we know that he was abandoned his by owners...when they were notified he was found they denied he was theirs! He gets along with all dogs and humans! He has the most beautiful topaz colored eyes and a very gorgeous colored coat.
"PI" Uniquely marked with tiger like stripes, Female, approximately 1 yr old and about 30lbs. Super sweet & wants to please, walks well on a leash, is very people & treat oriented so training should be an easy task. She was abandoned. She seems to get along with everyone & everything. She is the most adorably “odd” mix of dog with tiny legs, feet & head & the coolest markings on her coat.

Mr. Coonhound – Male hound, unaltered, removed from a bad circumstance where loose chickens, a pony and other (healthy) dogs were present. He has almost no teeth (ground down to gums, how is unknown). It’s hard to estimate an age but we believe he is under 5 years old . Very friendly with all. Keeps a clean kennel. Learning how to walk on a leash. Kennels well. Eating & drinking well.
