Blue Chip Burger Voted Best Entree at '60 Men'
Tom & Eddie's Blue Chip burger won the title of 'Best Entree' at '60 Men Who Cook'
Aurora resident Brian Rovik, a manager at , won “Best Entrée” at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s fundraiser “60 Men Who Cook,” held May 6, at the Kane County Fairgrounds.
Rovik grilled Tom & Eddie’s Blue Chip mini burgers, and the 1,000 attendees responded with great enthusiasm. The event raised funds for the Geneva History Center, Geneva Lions Club, and Rotary Club of Geneva.
No wonder he decided to grill the Blue Chip for the fundraiser. It’s his all time favorite burger.

“The Blue Chip is just a well rounded burger,” he said. “It looks good, it tastes good, and I’m a huge fan.”
Rovik began with Tom & Eddie’s more than a year ago in the test kitchens at College of DuPage. He was a culinary student at C.O.D., and Tom & Eddie’s founders Tom Dentice and Ed Rensi spoke about their future restaurant to Rovik’s class. Rovik expressed interest, and Tony Dentice (Tom’s son) hired him for the test kitchen.

He helped prepare the more than 2,000 meals for members of local organizations, students, and Tom & Ed’s friends and family. All meals were free in exchange for filling out a detailed questionnaire, the results of which Dentice and Rensi used to tweak and refine products and recipes.
When Tom & Eddie’s Lombard opened last August, Rovik was in the kitchen, doing what he loved to do. When Geneva opened last December, he became a swing manager, and very soon, he’ll work at the Tom & Eddie’s Deerfield.
Tom & Eddie’s Deerfield will open Wednesday, June 15. It’s a family-friendly, gourmet burger restaurant focused on giving its customers delicious food made from natural and/or organic products, personal customer service, and a relaxed and happy dining experience.
“We’re very proud of Brian for winning this award,” said Ed Rensi, co-founder of Tom & Eddie’s. “He can sure swing a spatula, and obviously he makes a pretty tasty Blue Chip Burger.”
