Christmas Gifts Accepted for Marklund Clients

Marklund giving trees offer ideas for giving gifts to clients with profound developmental disabilities.

Anyone looking to make the holidays more special for an adult or child with developmental disabilities--as well as for themselves—may consider donating a holiday gift to a Marklund client.

Giving Trees proudly standing in the lobbies at both Marklund’s Bloomingdale and Geneva locations are decorated with gift wish tags for each of Marklund’s 117 residents. Founded in 1954, Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves children and adults with profound developmental disabilities.

Stop by during the week and help “undecorate” the giving trees by taking the tags off, and shopping for a client. Each tag is detailed with information about a specific client, along with gift ideas for him or her.

Gifts will be accepted through Dec. 23 and will be opened by clients, with the assistance of many volunteers, on Christmas Eve morning.
