Geneva college grad starts career as actuary
Andrew Taylor graduated in May 2022 from the University of Illinois and was named a James Scholar. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science. He is starting his career as an actuary for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Chicago.

Simon Parsons graduates from Coe College

Congratulations to Simon Parsons, who was among a group of truly exceptional graduates this past year at Coe College.
Parsons, of Geneva, was awarded a bachelor's degree in English.
The graduating Kohawks demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics and the arts; were leaders in research and community service; and took advantage of Coe's commitment to integrate experience into education, completing thousands of internship hours. They leave Coe equipped with the resumes, experience and determination to expand their leadership roles into their budding professional lives.
Coe Board of Trustees Chair Carson Veach '74 lauded the class for its ability to overcome.
"You have proven the challenges of our day will shape, but not constrain you; influence but not limit you, and from this have demonstrated thoughtful leadership we hope to see in our graduates," Veach said.
Parsons was among nearly 300 students who received degrees.

Geneva student graduates from Illinois Wesleyan University
Illinois Wesleyan University honored more than 400 candidates for graduation during Commencement on May 1, 2022. Dr. William Farrar '71, considered to be one of the nation's foremost experts in cancer care and chief executive officer of The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, delivered the Commencement address.
The candidates include Tom Laduzinsky, of Geneva, who majored in Finance.

Geneva student named to Champlain College dean's list
Alyssa Farrar of Geneva, IL, has been named to a Champlain College Dean's List for the Spring 2022 semester.
Students awarded honors based on their academic achievement. Farrar is currently enrolled in the Cybersecurity major.

Local students graduate from Missouri State University
Missouri State University awarded 2,878 degrees to students in spring 2022.
The commencement ceremonies took place May 20, 2022, at Great Southern Bank Arena. The following local students earned degrees:
- Sean Baumgartner, of Geneva (60134), graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Criminology.
- Joshua Rose, of Geneva (60134), graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Risk Management and Insurance.
Students who graduated with honors completed at least 30 credit hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.

Emerson College student of Geneva earns dean's list nod
The following students are named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the Spring 2022 semester. The requirement to make Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.
- Mary Kassel of Geneva, IL (60134) is majoring in Media Arts Production and is a member of the Class of 2023.
- Julia Rein of Geneva, IL (60134) is majoring in Media Arts Production and is a member of the Class of 2024.
