College Credits: Geneva Student To Tour Europe With College Choir

Geneva student to tour Germany and Czech Republic with the Augustana College Choir

The Augustana Choir, under the direction of Dr. Jon Hurty, will perform in Germany and the Czech Republic during a tour May 24-June 7.

Ariela Policastro of Geneva, IL will join the tour as a member of the Augustana College Choir.

The choir has six musical engagements during the tour, most at historic churches such as the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, Germany, which is associated with several well-known composers such as Wagner, Mendelssohn and Bach, who is interred there.

The group also will tour Schloss Sanssouci in Potsdam, the Monument to the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig, the Terezin concentration camp and memorial, Prague Castle and Karlstejn Castle.

The Augustana Choir has a tradition of touring the U.S. or abroad every two years. The 2020 tour of the East Coast was canceled due to COVID-19. The choir toured in Sweden in 2018.

Deeanna Perry named to the dean's list at Bob Jones University

Deeanna Perry, a Sophomore Public Health/Global Health major from Geneva, was among approximately 750 Bob Jones University students named to the Spring 2022 Dean's List.

The Dean's List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.
