Geneva student travels to Tanzania with Carthage College
Selina Costabile of Geneva, IL, traveled to Tanzania with Carthage College for a course exploring the nation's religious, cultural, and social structures in January.

Offered during Carthage's popular J-Term, the study tour was led by professors Andrea Ng'weshemi and Deborah Masloski. A Carthage tradition since the early 1970s, these short-term study tours allow students to experience new cultures and ideas without committing to a full semester abroad.

Local student named to RIT dean's list
Anna Yingst of Geneva (60134) was named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Yingst is in the photographic sciences program.
Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Local makes dean's list for fall 2022 at Millikin
Millikin University is pleased to announce the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester.
Students who attempt 12 graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher earn Dean's List honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00 grade point average on 12 graded credits attempted to earn High Dean's List honors.
The students named to the Dean's List at Millikin University are listed in alphabetical order according to last name.

Emerson College student from Geneva makes dean's list for fall 2022 semester
The following students earned Dean's List honors for Emerson College's Fall 2022 semester. The requirement to make Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.
- Mary Kassel of Geneva, IL (60134) is majoring in Media Arts Production and is a member of the Class of 2023.
- Julia Rein of Geneva, IL (60134) is majoring in Media Arts Production and is a member of the Class of 2024.

University of Mississippi fall 2022 honor roll lists Geneva student
Olivia Fuller, of Geneva, IL, was named to the University of Mississippi's Fall 2022 Honor Roll lists.
Fuller was named to the Dean's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74.
In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

The Chancellor's Honor Roll is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.

Geneva student takes part in United Way's QC Caring Assignment
Augustana College junior Avery Frick, of Geneva, participated in the United Way Quad Cities QC Caring Assignment.
As part of a community campaign, United Way Quad Cities challenged young adults to use $100 seed money to improve the lives of people in the community. Fifteen Augustana students took up the challenge to multiply the initial seed money to make an impact on a cause, person, purpose or group they are passionate about.
