KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Health Department is warning residents of a recall of salami and other products from Piller's Find Foods that are being recalled due to the potential of Salmonella contamination.
Piller's is based out of Waterloo, Canada, and is recalling about 1,076 pounds of ready-t0-eat salami and speck products, according to a press release from the Kane County Health Department.
There have been no reported cases of illness due to consumption of these products. However, they were shipped to distribution centers in Illinois and other states, the health department warned. The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service confirmed the presence of Salmonella.

Most people recover from the illness, which usually lasts four to seven days. Some patients experience diarrhea so bad that they need to be hospitalized. Especially at risk are older adults, infants and people with weakened immune systems.
Along with the USDA, Piller's is urging people who may have purchased these products and stored them in their freezers to throw them away or return them.
